Independent Living Services

Independent living helps youth transitioning to adulthood.

Adolescents who have been in out-of-home placement face a daunting challenge when entering adulthood: “How do I go from the highly structured world of agency or foster care to self-sufficiency as an adult?” The answer: independent living programs that prepare youth to live self-sufficient, purposeful, productive lives.

White’s independent living services give teens in residential or foster care who are age 16 and older the opportunity to participate in training for self-sufficiency through specially prepared mentor and foster homes. The program meets a critical shortage of services available to these at-risk teens. White's is a Chaffee Independant Living provider. Services are provided to youth transitioning from placement as well as after they have been emancipated.
