Foster Parents

White’s foster parents have a common desire to reach out in Christian love to children in need. If there is anything else they have in common, it’s their diversity. Many people who would like to be foster parents are fearful that there is an image of the model foster parent that they cannot match. But there’s no such thing as the “model” foster parent.

White’s foster parents are married, single and divorced. Some own their homes while others rent. Our foster parents are as diverse as the children we serve. We take great care in matching families and children so that the chances for successful placement are maximized. For this reason, we need different kinds of families for different kinds of children.

Who can be a foster parent? White’s considers the following important in new foster parents:

  • Active involvement in a church
  • Willingness to receive foster parent training
  • Ability to provide a safe, stable and loving home environment
  • Willingness to use available resources (i.e. therapists, tutors, support group)

If you meet the above criteria and are searching for an opportunity to make a positive, permanent impact on the lives of youth, fill out our information request form or contact one of our regional offices for more information.
