Friend of a Child

Friend of a Child is White’s over-arching program that provides many forms of enrichment experiences and activities for the students on campus and children in foster care. The experiences provided through Friend of a Child vary from the Chapel and spiritual life programs, summer camp, White’s athletic program, to a host of social, cultural and educational activities. These experiences are designed to expand the world of our children while building self-esteem through accomplishment, appreciation, understanding and growth. All of these activities, which are critical in providing healing and future success, must be funded entirely through contributions to White’s ministry. Give to the Friend of Child Fund today or contact our Development Office for more information or a tour of our Wabash campus.

Spiritual Life Program

One area of Friend of a Child is the Spiritual Life Program.

Helping children find healing, hope and love, the on-campus Spiritual Life Program offers youth-oriented chapel services, Bible study groups, prayer partners, visiting speakers and Christian music concerts and gives students the opportunity to participate in drama team, worship team, nursing home visitation and mission trips. These activities are funded entirely through our Spiritual Life Fund, part of the overall Friend of a Child Fund.

“It wasn’t until I came to White’s that I really felt like I wasn’t a loser and wasn’t unimportant. I learned through this experience that God did love me.”
—Tracy

“When I arrived at White’s, I was an angry, bitter street-kid with an addiction problem. Through the Chapel program and then my foster parents’ example, I learned that God is loving and accepting. I gave my heart and life to Him, and I am a new person.”
—Ryan

“I was a total rebel before I came to White’s. After about a month of hearing from Pastor Brad about God’s gift of love and the possibility of new life, I decided to accept His offer! My life has changed completely; I have new hope, joy and goals.”
—Emily
