White’s is blessed to have many individual stories of lives that have experienced a positive change in their lives. But these stories only tell a small part of the overall story of White’s. Thanks to outcomes research, it’s possible to understand the positive impact we make on hundreds of children and families every year.
White’s participates in the outcomes project developed by IARCCA (Indiana’s state-wide association of child and family service agencies). We have been actively involved in the project beginning with its pilot stage in 1997.
Measuring outcomes gives us data to help us continually evaluate and improve our programs. Our outcome measures process is part of White’s overall emphasis on quality programming.
Besides showing our positive achievements, our outcomes research helps us identify areas for improvement. We analyze outcomes data as we develop new strategies to address those areas. We recently were able to decrease the rate of unplanned discharges from our Residential program and are currently focusing on the same area in Foster Care.
In addition to tracking functional and clinical outcomes, White’s measures client satisfaction (child, family and referral agency) by means of IARCCA’s satisfaction surveys. White’s has maintained a 94 percent client satisfaction rate over the past five years, based on more than 3,000 surveys.
