What sorts of children are placed at White’s?
White’s is a Christian, non-profit, 501c3 organization dedicated to helping the most vulnerable and at-risk children. We serve children of all ages through our continuum of care, from foster care to residential to transitional living. Children at White’s are usually placed here through referring agencies such as the county Probation Office, Division of Child Services or Department of Corrections.

How do I place my child at White’s?
While White’s does accept private placements, the cost is not typically covered by insurance plans, and is usually prohibitive for most families. Please e-mail amy.knoblock@whitesrfs.org if you are interested in a private placement.

How long is the average stay?
Length of stay is determined by the treatment plan for each individual child. On average, residential placements stay in the program an average of nine months.

Do you take out-of-state placements?
Yes, White’s does accept out-of-state placements, and has successfully worked with placements from Michigan and other surrounding states in the past. How often can I visit my child if he/she is placed at White’s?
Visitation is every three weeks on a Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. White’s believes in families being involved in their child’s treatment, and will make every effort to ensure that visitation will be possible if the parents and child desire it. Contact your individual case manager if you have transportation difficulties concerning visitation.

What sort of education do children at White’s receive?
Children in White’s Residential programs, including Substance Abuse and Sexually Maladaptive Youth, attend our on-grounds, fully-accredited public junior/senior high school. As an additional benefit, students at White’s can participate in our Credit Recovery Program, which allows students to earn credit for classes they may not have finished in their schools prior to being placed at White’s.

What extracurricular activities can youth at White’s participate in?
Students at White’s participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities designed to develop the whole person, including athletics. Our Friend of a Child fund
provides the resources for deserving students to attend concerts, speeches and plays, and to go to camps and on field trips.
